Apartment, The Hague

This project comprises the renovation and conversion of a ground-level apartment, built at the beginning of the 20th century. At the back, the apartment is extended with a veranda and an additional sleeping room.

By setting the sleeping room as a partially free-standing wooden box offset from the back facade, a small in-between space is created between the old house, veranda, and ‘sleeping box’. With this, inside and outside intertwine, and the little garden gains its own spatial dynamic.
