Horticulturist accommodation, Vienna

New building of an accommodation with work, storage, and common areas (800 m², open competition).
The design proposes to replace the existing accommodation with a new three-storey building that integrates into the park as much as possible. The round, glass-green form with an elevated main floor (offices, etc.), souterrain (garage), and basement (changing rooms, etc.) minimally interferes with the park and its monumental greenery. Its spatial composition consists of a circle, which is divided in three directions. It turns the interior spaces away from the street and orients them towards the park and the maintenance area in the centre. Here, a spatial dynamic is created between different ‘inside’ and outside orientations – between interior, courtyard, and park.
